Uluru - 4 days/3 nights

The red heart of Australia

This camping adventure is an experience like no other in the world! No other image symbolises Australia more than our vast red, desert landscapes and there is no greater spiritual and geological icon in Australia than Uluru. This camping trip in the red heart of Australia starts by flying straight to Uluru to meet your tour on arrival before ending in Alice Springs for your final night.

Itinerary...

Day 1 - Fly to Uluru or Alice Springs

Most tours start and end in Alice Springs with six hours on the first day spent traveling the 500kms from Alice Springs to Uluru. So what we suggest is cut out the long drive and have you book your flight from your capital city direct to Uluru rather than Alice Springs (which is also a lot cheaper!). However if you do fly to Alice Springs you'll need to do so the day before the tour starts and book your accommodation for that night.
Depending on where you fly into on Day 1 you'll either be picked up at 5.00am in Alice Springs or from Uluru at 1pm. From here you'll take a close look at the 36 domes of Kata Tjuta as you get up close to this ancient geological formation during a Valley of the Winds hike. Get your camera ready as the desert sun sets over Uluru. Tonight you can curl up in a swag (Aussie bedroll) and enjoy a night under the outback stars. (D)
Includes: Kata Tjuta and Uluru tour, dinner, camp accommodation (plus outback camel farm if flying into Alice Springs)
NOTE: When you book please advise us of your flight arrival details.

Day 2 - Uluru to Kings Canyon

An early start is rewarded with a glorious Uluru sunrise. While the morning’s fresh enjoy an unguided walk around the base of Uluru before gaining an insight to the local Aboriginal culture from your guide. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to purchase Aboriginal arts and crafts at the Cultural Centre before you travel to an exclusive campsite within the Watarrka National Park (Kings Canyon) where we sleep for the night. BLD
Includes: All day touring, 3 meals, camp accommodation

Day 3 - Kings Canyon to Alice Springs

Get your hiking shoes on today as we head out to explore the formations and towering rock faces of Kings Canyon. Discover the size and beauty of the canyon as we trek through the Amphitheatre, discover the Lost City, the lush and ancient Garden of Eden and the North and South Walls. After lunch we make our way back to Alice Springs where you'll be dropped off at your final night's accommodation. (BL)
Includes: All day touring, 2 meals, drop off to accommodation in Alice Springs, hostel accommodation

Day 4 - Alice Springs

Depending on your flight time you may be able to explore Alice Springs by checking out the Desert Park or buy some Aboriginal art from the local galleries.
