There are wildlife stops en route and lots of time for you to explore the spectacular natural beauty of the area!
After our meet and greet, we hit the Great Ocean Road and get you upclose and personal to the crashing waves of the Southern Ocean. See the impressive lime stone Twelve Apostles, walk down the Gibson Steps, listen to stories about shipwrecks at Loch Ard Gorge and take a walk through the Otway Ranges, a ancient forest of giant eucalyptus trees. Your guide knows a few spots koalas love to hang out so we will go and have a look to see if they’re around!
After a fun day exploring the Great Ocean Road and surroundings, we head to the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula. We’ll have dinner together and stay overnight so we get make the most of our time on the road together!
After breakfast, we take a ferry ride from Queenscliff across Port Phillip Bay to the Mornington Peninsula. Dolphins love cruising around in the bay so keep your eyes peeled and your camera ready! The Mornington Peninsula is famous for the iconic Bathing Boxes so we have a little photo stop here. Then we visit award winning eco-wildlife park Moonlit Sanctuary, where you’ll get up close and personal to some of Australia’s favourite native animals!
Then we make our way to Penguin Island, a truly magical place! Beautiful beaches, a stunning coastline, friendly locals and little penguins, what else could one want in an island?! We take a walk at the Nobbies, an amazing clifftop board walk overlooking Bass Strait. You might see seals here, as the largest group of Australian fur seals live just off the coast! Then… the moment we’ve all been waiting for… the famous penguin parade! Colonies of the worlds smallest penguins waddle ashore just as the sun sets, and we will be there to watch it!
Our tour departs every Monday, Wednesday and Friday around 7AM and returns between 9:30PM and midnight the following day. If you’ve got two days and want to be blown away by Victoria’s beautiful scenery and amazing wildlife, book your Melbourne Apostles and Penguins tour today!
