Sydney to Melbourne Overnight in Wagga Wagga Summary
Join our overnight Aussie road trip! We show you the sights between Sydney to Melbourne, exploring historic villages and taking in stunning mountain scenery. We take you on a trip around Canberra before we spend the night on a working farm in the remote Wagga Wagga area – (how good is that?!). You arrive in Melb in the evening of day 2.
After our meet and greet, we hit the road and start cruising towards Canberra! To give you a great taste of our nation’s Capital, we take you on a private tour of the Parliament House, visit the War Memorial and have a look at the impressive Embassy District!
After a fun afternoon taking in the sights and learning about Canberra’s interesting history, we continue south towards our farm stay in Wagga Wagga. The farm where you sleep tonight is an actual working farm, so you get a good idea of what it’s truly like to be a farmer! You can take a tractor tour around the property, try horse riding (both own expense) or just roam around and interact with the animals. Whatever you decide to do, you will enjoy the genuine Australian country hospitality!
In the evening, we have a farm dinner together, unwind, and gaze at the stars!
After breakfast we leave Wagga Wagga and cross the Murray River, which with a length of over 2,500 km is Australia’s longest river. We spend some free time in the beautiful historic town of Beechworth where we enjoy a free tasting of local delights. Check out the famous bakery, lolly shop, cordial factory, honey shop, and beer brewery! Learn the stories of Australia’s gold rush days and Ned Kelly, Australia’s most famous outlaw.
After another lovely day, we then drive through the impressive Victorian Alps to arrive into Melbourne in the evening.
